We start by identifying whether your lawn has Bermuda, Zoysia, Fescue, or a combination of grasses. Each has different growing and seasonal needs.
We look at existing weeds, thin areas, color changes, and overall grass growth. Insects, disease, hard soil, shade, and watering problems are also considered when something does not look right.
Weeds that are already growing are treated based on what is actually present. Grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds may require different treatments.
Preventive treatments are applied at the appropriate times of year for certain seasonal weeds. Timing depends on the grass type and weeds being targeted.
Fertilizer and other program treatments are applied based on the grass type and season. The type and timing of the application change throughout the year.
Simply Green returns for nine applications during the year. What is applied can change as temperatures, rainfall, weeds, and grass growth change.
Regular mowing and watering continue between Simply Green visits. Keep an eye on new weeds and any sudden changes in the grass.
Bermuda, Zoysia, and Fescue need different mowing heights. Keep your lawn at the recommended height for your grass type and avoid removing too much of the blade at one time. Use a sharp mower blade for a clean cut.
Water needs change with rainfall, temperature, grass type, and season. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet or adding extra water simply because a lawn treatment was applied. Follow any specific watering instructions provided after service.
Do not immediately spray an unfamiliar weed with another product. Leaving it in place gives our lawn care experts a chance to identify it and determine whether it needs additional treatment.
Stop Weeds Earlier
Weed control is not limited to weeds already growing in the lawn. Some seasonal weeds can be addressed before they become established, while others need treatment after they appear.
Simply Green uses both approaches during the year.
Pre emergent treatment is applied at specific times to prevent certain seasonal weeds from becoming established.
Bermuda and Zoysia programs include prevention for summer and winter weeds. Fescue care includes crabgrass prevention.
These applications need to be made before the targeted weeds begin growing.
Suitable weeds already growing in the lawn are treated based on what is present.
Grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds do not all respond to the same treatment. Some weeds respond sooner than others, while established or difficult weeds may take longer.
Different weeds can also appear as the seasons change. A weed that shows up later in the year may be a different species becoming active under new growing conditions.

Feed the Grass You Want
Weed control is one part of the lawn care program. Your grass also needs the right nutrition for its type and growing season.
Simply Green uses liquid and granular fertilizer, along with other program treatments, at appropriate times during the year.
Fertilizer is not an instant fix for thin grass. The lawn still needs time to grow, and some weak areas may have another problem.
Shade, hard soil, watering issues, insects, disease, and mowing can all affect how grass grows. Those problems need to be addressed separately when they are limiting the lawn.
Care for Your Grass Type
Atlanta lawns do not all grow on the same schedule. Simply Green adjusts weed control and fertilization according to the type of grass in your yard.
Bermuda and Zoysia are warm season grasses. They become more active as temperatures rise and go dormant during colder weather.
Their nine-application program includes summer and winter weed prevention, treatment for suitable broadleaf weeds, liquid and granular fertilizer, lime, and free service calls.
Applications change as grass and weed activity varies throughout the year.
Fescue grows more actively during the cooler parts of the year and can struggle during Atlanta's summer heat.
The program includes crabgrass prevention, broadleaf weed control, starter fertilizer for new seedlings, liquid and granular fertilizer, lime, additional lawn support, and free service calls.
Fescue aeration and seeding may also be recommended for thin areas that need new grass.

The program includes nine scheduled applications, but the same treatment is not repeated at every visit. Applications are based on the grass type, season, weeds, and current lawn condition.
